Different strokes...

This week is all about creativity in the strokes department! Artistic swimmers do it differently and we want to share our stroke secrets with you and demonstrate how and why to integrate these fantastically fun new skills into your sessions.

You will of course be familiar with the standard swimming strokes and how to teach them, but in this episode of our 'Live From The Pool' series, we demonstrate in a live session how swimming instructors can teach artistic swimming strokes to their participants.

The main difference is body alignment. The standard swimming stroke is designed to be as streamlined as possible for energy efficiency and speed. The artistic swimming stroke is designed to look good and is less about speed, but takes a lot more work due to the body's position in the water.

All artistic swimming strokes will enhance the standard swimming strokes and are a great form of swimming fitness for any age participants. The strokes and the various drills you can teach are fun and engaging and will bring a team element to your sessions.

As well as the artistic swimming variation to the standard swimming strokes, the session also includes a new type of swimming stroke which will encourage variation in swimming lessons and challenge coordination.

If you like this video and want to find out more, our online courses cover stroke creativity and many other skills and techniques in more detail, so why not sign up today to become an artistic swimming expert!
